Activity 1
What do you know about Khadija bint Khuwaylid?
Write 5 facts about her.
4
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is
a human being, not an Angel. He
feels happy, sad
, and gets tired like any of us.
So he got married and had
children.
5
Your Mother is a Legend
You have another mother. You’ve never seen
her. You’ve never heard her voice. You’ve never
perhaps even thought of her as your mother.
But she is your mother nonetheless. And if you
get to Jannah, your mother will there, waiting
to meet you.
Her name is Khadijah (RA).
She was the first wife of the Prophet Muhammad
(S), the first to believe in his message and the
first mother of the greatest nation history has
ever seen.
6
Khadijah's father, Khuwaylid ibn Asad, was a
merchant and leader. According to many traditions,
Khadijah's mother, Fatima bint Za'idah, was a
member of the Amir ibn Luayy clan of the Quraysh
and a third cousin of Muhammad's mother.
Khadijah's father, Khuwaylid ibn Asad, was a
merchant and leader.
7
Khadijah was born to a life of privilege. Her
family was important in Makkah and quite
wealthy; she could have lived a life of ease all
her days. Khadijah, however, was an intelligent
and industrious young woman who enjoyed business
and became very skilled. When her father died,
the young woman took charge of the family
business, which thrived and grew under her
direction. Compassionate as well as hard-working,
Khadijah gave a great deal of money to help
others—assisting the poor, sick, disabled,
widows, orphans, and giving poor couples money to
marry.
8
When Khadijah was 40 years old, she was
widely known in Arabia as a powerful,
smart, independent woman, and many men
wanted to work for her. However, when she
needed to hire an agent, she did not hire
any of the men who eagerly sought the job.
Instead,
she selected a hard-working young
man named Muhammad who had the
the reputation of being honest and
hard-working Muhammad was only 25 years
old when he accepted the job, but he
proved to be an excellent employee and a
well a mannered man.

His Marriage to Khadijah?
the servant OF KHADIJAH (Maisarah)
Khadijah sent him on a business trip; her old and trusted slave
Maysarah being delegated to accompany and serve him.Maysarah was
impressed by the Prophet's integrity, strength of character,
adherence to principles, his friendly dealings and his business
abilities. On the way back from Syria, the Prophet (peace and
blessings be upon him) lay down under a tree to rest for a while.
Nestora, a monk, noted for his knowledge of religion and for his
insight saw him and asked Maysarah who he was. Maysarah told him
all about Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his
reputation for honesty and intelligence. Nestora then told him that
this man would be elevated to Prophet hood in the future, as no man
had ever rested under that particular tree but Prophets
10
During the journey Maisarah noticed wonderful
qualities in the prophet, such as honesty and noble
principles.
The prophet returned from his journey during
which he had made a huge profit from his trading.

have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them."
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cast a glance upon him and
said, "He who does not show mercy to others, will not be
shown mercy."

upon him) passed by children, he would salute them, put his
hands on their heads and pick up the small ones in his arms

was very kind to children and loved them

Although the prophet (PBUH) was fifteen years
younger than Khadijah, he never thought of
marrying another woman as long as she lived.
Allah’s messenger (PBUH) said of her “The best
of the women of her time was Maryam the
mother of Prophet Isa (PBUH), and the best of
the women of her time was Khadijah.
The prophet was twenty-five and she was forty

peace from her lord and from me, and
