The suffix "-ion" is a noun suffix that means
the action, process, result, state, or condition
of something.
The -ion suffix is often used to turn verbs into
nouns.

Education - the process of receiving
or giving systematic instruction,
especially at a school or university.
Subtraction - the process of taking
away one number from another.
Collection - the action or process of
collecting someone or something.
Infection - The invasion and growth of
germs in the body.
Perfection - the condition, state, or
quality of being free or as free as
possible from all flaws or defects.
Election - a formal and organized choice by
vote of a person for a political office or other
position.
Opposition - resistance or dissent, expressed
in action or argument.
Mission - an important assignment carried out
for political, religious, or commercial
purposes, typically involving travel.
Friction - the resistance that one surface or
object encounters when moving over another.
Restriction - a limiting condition or measure,
especially a legal one.
