What is a "subject pronoun"?

Subject pronoun --> pronombre

Subject pronouns are words that replaces a noun in a sentence
(name, thing, place, etc.)

​In Spanish subject pronouns are...

Tú vs. Usted vs. Ustedes

Use tú with one person you're more familiar with (friends, family, peers)

Use usted with adults, elders, or people of authority (again only with one person)

Use ustedes when speaking to two more people (You All)

Genders & Subject Pronouns

If a group is made of only males OR mixed genders (males and females), we use the masculine forms:

Ellos (they)

Nosotros (we) ex: yourself and another person/people (____ y yo)

If a group is strictly female, we would use the feminine forms:

Ellas (they)

Nosotras (we) ex: yourself and another person/people (____ y yo)

What is "vosotros / vosotras"?

In Spain, instead of ustedes, you will hear "vosotros" (when talking to males or mixed genders) and "vosotras" (when talking to females). Vosotros, like ustedes, means "You all"
