What is Procedure Text?
A procedure text is a type of text that gives instructions or directions on how to do something. It explains the steps or processes in a clear, ordered way so that the reader can follow them easily. The main purpose of a procedure text is to help the reader perform a task or make something.

Structure of Procedure Text
A procedure text generally follows this structure:
Goal/Objective – This is the purpose or the result you want to achieve (what you are trying to make or do).
Materials/Ingredients – This section lists what you need to complete the task (tools, ingredients, or materials).
Steps – These are the instructions that show how to do the task, listed in a clear and logical order.

Language Features of Procedure Text
Imperative verbs (give commands or instructions) like "mix," "cut," "pour," etc.
Chronological order (steps are listed in order of how things should be done).
Time conjunctions (first, next, then, after that, finally, etc.).
Clear and concise language (so the reader can easily follow the instructions).

Example of Procedure Text
How to Make a Sandwich
Goal:
To make a simple sandwich.
Materials:
2 slices of bread
1 slice of cheese
2 slices of cucumber
1 tablespoon of mayonnaise
1 slice of ham (optional)

Example of Procedure Text
Steps:
Prepare the ingredients. Lay out the bread, cheese, cucumber, ham (if using), and mayonnaise on the table.
Spread the mayonnaise. Take one slice of bread and spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side.
Add the cheese. Place a slice of cheese on top of the mayonnaise.
Add the cucumber. Place 2 slices of cucumber on top of the cheese.
Add the ham (optional). If you want, add a slice of ham on top of the cucumber.
Assemble the sandwich. Take the second slice of bread and place it on top of the filling, mayonnaise side down.
Cut the sandwich. Use a knife to cut the sandwich into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
