The digestive system consists of organs that help your body break down food and absorb its nutrients. The video below introduces the digestive system. As you view the video, think about which characteristic of life the digestive system supports.

Muscular System
Think about what happens when you move your arm. Your upper arm has two major muscles.
The biceps muscle is on the top or front of your arm.
The triceps muscle is on the back of your arm.
These muscles work together to bend and straighten your arm.

Excretory System
The excretory system is an organ system in your body that eliminates waste. As your cells use energy, move, and maintain homeostasis, they produce waste products. The excretory system contains organs that remove waste from your blood and excrete, or push out, the waste from your body.
