Present Simple

We use the simple present tense to talk about:

  • Daily routines: I eat eggs for breakfast every morning.

  • Habits: Carlos never smokes.

  • General states: I live in Azcapotzalco.

TIME EXPRESSIONS: every day, at 6:00 am, every week, on Mondays, in the morning, in the afternoon, at night, on weekends, on Christmas.

Structure

:) + VERB in Simple present + complement (time expression).

Remember you need to add "S" to the verb in the third peson (HE, SHE, IT)

Examples:

I take a shower at 6:00 am.
Peter takes a shower at 9:00 am.

Adverbs of frequency

We can also use adverbs of frequency to tell how often something happens. They always go before the verb, but if you use the verb to be they go after the verb to be. The adverbs are:
