Making requests and responding to them

​Requests are expressions used to ask for something or to require something in a well-behaved manner

Formal requests: could, would, may

Less formal requests: can

Forming a request

Podstawowa zasada konstrukcji:
Modal verb (czasownik, który umożliwia zadanie pytania) + osoba (do której się zwracamy) + v (ten, który dotyczy czynności, o którą prosimy)
Can you lend this book to me? (Czy możesz pożyczyć mi tę książkę/Pożyczysz mi tę książkę?)
Could you help me with carrying my groceries, please? (Czy pomógłbyś mi z niesieniem zakupów, proszę?)

Responding to requests

Accepting/positive: Yes, no problem/Yes, of course
Refusing (odmowa)/negative: Sorry, I/you can't/I'm afraid I/you/we can't (np. Because I'm using it right now/It's too late/It's not permitted)/Not now, sorry (I'm busy)


Could you open the window? - Yes, no problem/Sorry, I can't. I'm cold.
