What is an Archetype?
An archetype (ARK-uh-type) is an idea, symbol, pattern, or character-type, in a story.
It’s any story element that appears again and again in stories from cultures around the world and symbolizes something universal in the human experience.

Can be things, settings, situations, pesonalities.

Serve to send a message on how to act.
You probably already know a lot of them.

Let's look at some examples

Iron Man is an Archetype.
Heros want to save everyone from harm. The hero struggles but overcomes challenges and serves the greater good.

Yoda is an Archetype.
Mentors pass on knowledge to a Hero, often having to die as a final act of passing on to the next generation.

Tricksters are clever who look afterthemselves, cause mischief, can help a hero or a villain, and are manipulative.
