English - Amazing adverbs!

Today's goals!

• Understand what adverbs are.

• Find adverbs in sentences.

• Use adverbs to make your writing better!

​Adverbs tell us how, when, or where something happens.

They describe verbs, adjectives, or even other adverbs!

• Example:

  • “She ran quickly.”

    (How did she run? Quickly!)

​Here are two more examples

“We’ll play later.”

(When will we play? Later!)

• “He looked outside.”

  (Where did he look? Outside!)

​Mia tiptoed quietly through the forest. The leaves rustled softly under her feet. She stopped suddenly when she heard a strange noise. Carefully, she looked around, trying to see where the sound came from. Eventually, a small fox appeared from behind a tree. It blinked curiously at her, and she smiled gently back.

​Let's read this text together - then we will try and spot some of the adverbs in it!
