If you have not already done so and are interested in a specific career pathway, reach out to your school counselor! They can help you make a schedule that coordinates with your career goals.

Step 1: Fill in Your Pathway
At the beginning of today's lesson, you reviewed CCA's five career pathways. Based on your interests and skills, you chose a career pathway that best fits you. Suppose you are still deciding on one pathway that matches your interests and skills. In this case, you are encouraged to select two career pathways. Then, complete the worksheet using interests, skills, careers, clubs, field trips, and courses that fit either pathway.
Write or type your chosen career pathway in the box at the top of the worksheet.
11
Remember that interests are a feeling of wanting to learn more about something or to be involved in something. You can have many interests. It is important that you chose your pathway in the last question because you have interests that align with it!
Step 2: Determine Pathway Interests

Which clubs interest you the most that support your career pathway? Write or type the clubs on the career plan worksheet.
22
A field trip is a visit to a place (such as a museum or zoo) that is made by students to learn about something. CCA offers over 500 field trips to students each school year both virtually and in person!
Field trips offer you the opportunity to engage in things that interest you with other students who enjoy the same things.

While in high school, you must take a certain number of credits in English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. You will have some flexibility in course choice, but not a lot. You can, however, choose electives that will support your interests. In fact, you need to take electives to complete the pathway that you chose.
Step 7: Decide on High School Electives
26
27
Follow the directions above to discover elective courses that are available under your chosen career pathway. After reviewing the courses, create a list of at least three that you would be interested in taking. Be sure that they align with your long-term career goals!
