a. Show Don’t Tell. Let your reader know what you’ve seen and how you feel by describing the details.

I. Example of Showing: My teacher hung up the class phone and slowly turned

towards us. Her smile seemed a bit forced, and then she took a deep breath, put her

hands on her hips, and said “It’s going to be ok, but it seems we may not see each

other for awhile.”
