These pronouns are used to replace a noun after prepositions such as para (for), con (with), sin (without), de (of, about, from), and prepositions of place such as delante de (in front of), detrás de (behind) and al lado de (next to).

Grande is shortened to gran when placed before a masculine or feminine noun, and means 'great', e.g. una gran fiesta.

Some adjectives can be placed before a noun. When placed before a masculine noun, they have a shorted form.
bueno > buen
malo > mal
primero > primer
tercero > tercer
alguno > algún
ninguno > ningún

Complete the sentences with the apocopated form of the adjectives in brackets.

al.... = on/upon... al llegar = on arriving
antes de... = before... antes de ir = before going
después de... = after... después de comer = after eating

The verbs seguir and continuar must be followed with the present participle of a verb to express the idea of 'to continue/keep on doing something'.
Seguimos practicando los bailes tradicionales. = We keep on practising traditional dances.
