What is multiplication?
● Multiplication (symbol "×") is the mathematical operation of
scaling one number by another.
● The basic idea of multiplication is repeated addition.
○ For example: 5 × 3 = 5 + 5 + 5 = 15

● A Multiplication Problem has two parts:
○ Factors: The numbers being multiplied
■ e.g. 5x3
○ Product: The answer
■ e.g. 15

● A multiplication table can be used to help when
learning multiplication.
● A mulitiplication table is a table of the products of two
factors, esp. the integers 1 to 12.
