14

Multiple Select

Use the right angle on the previous slide to answer the following questions.

What is the solution for x?

What is the measure for the two angles shown?

1

x = 60

2

x = 30

3

x = 90

4

angles = 30 & 60 degrees

5

angles = 20 & 70 degrees

16

Once we solve for x, we can now substitute x in to find out the measure for each angle.

2(61) + 3 = 125
(61) - 6 = 55
The angle to the left is 125 degrees
The angle to the right is 55 degrees

Added together they equal 180 degrees

17

We know that these two angles are supplementary angles because added together they will equal 180 degrees (a straight line). To solve this equation, add both of these expressions together and set them equal to 180.
 2x+3+x6=1802x+3+x-6=180

 3x 3=1803x\ -3=180
 3x=1833x=183
 x=61x=61
