ATP

Usable energy for the cell. high energy-carrying molecule, Adenosine Triphosphate.

ADP

 Potential to become ATP. low energy-carrying molecule, Adenosine Di-Phosphate.

Chemosynthesis

Chemical energy is converted into carbohydrates for the organism's food.

Photosynthesis

 The process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen and energy in the form of sugar.

Chlorophyll

A pigment present in all green plants and a few other organisms that absorbs energy from the sun. It is required for photosynthesis. 

Thylakoid

Membrane-bound compartment inside the chloroplast. Light-dependent reactions take place here.

Light-Dependent Reaction

Reaction that takes place in sunlight. Light is converted to chemical energy during this reaction. Also known as the Krebs Cycle.
