Fill in the Blanks
Type answer...
3
Not everyone behaves the same way, likes the same thing, or is held to the same expectations at home.
So we must decide what the rules are in ELA class!
But what does that mean?
4
Non-Negotiables
Gritty: Advocate for yourself and others in need.
Respectful: Engage with peers in a responsible, meaningful way.
Enthusiastic: Remain on task and focused for every assignment.
Accountable: Turn in your assignments and make up owed work.
Trustworthy: Do your own work all the time, every time.
ELA 7
But what do these non-negotiables actually look like OR NOT look like in this room?

Multiple Select
GRITTY: Choose the responses that show someone advocating for themselves or others in need in a classroom.
You have been trying to finish your essay all night but can't figure out the conclusion, so you email Mrs. Prince to ask for help.
In your group, you notice two teammates making fun of another teammate even though she's asked them to stop. You also tell them to stop and explain why their behavior is so rude.
If your friend doesn't pass ELA, he'll be suspended from the next soccer game, but you really need him to win! You let him copy your homework so that he will get the points.
You're confused about the work even though you read the directions twice. Mrs. Prince is at her desk and you don't want to bother her, so you just write down random things because it'd better than turning in a blank sheet.

Poll
What do you usually do when you're confused in class?
