NOTES

Since (-2) = -(2) ,

(-2)(-5) = -(2)(-5)

We could read this as the opposite of two times negative five. So, we would find out how much 2 groups of negative 5 would equal and then take its opposite.

(-2)(-5) = 10

NOTES

Remember Fact Families? That is how you know multiplying and dividing integers have the same rules.
(-2)(-5)=10 so  10÷2=510\div-2=-5

(3)(-4)=-12 so  12÷4=3-12\div-4=3
