• The infinitive is used to express a purpose or the reason why someone does something.

Estructure

• Affirmative :It is formed with the structure to + (root of the verb),

  Example:

  - To sleep was a pleasure

  - I want to buy a car 

• Negative : Is formed with NOT + in infinitive

  Example:

  - Try not to be angry

  - he doesn't know how to swim
