An adverb modify verbs, adjectives or another adverb and answer the questions WHERE? HOW? WHEN?

Quiet - Quietly
This word {quiet} is an adjective.
"The quiet boy stood in the lunchroom."
Our new word is an ADVERB.
Can you use this word in a sentence?

Examples:
The boy quietly stood in the lunchroom.

It can appear before or after the verb it modifies, or between the parts of a verb phrase.

For examples:
He sleepily watched the stars. (how)
She will soon go on a journey. (when)
The luggage was piled everywhere. (where)

There are 3 special types of Adverbs:

Adverbs of Manner (HOW)
Tell us HOW something happens.
For Examples:
QUICKLY
SLOWLY
CAREFULLY
CORRECTLY

For Examples:
She passed the exam easily.
They walked quickly to catch the train.
The dinner party went badly.
Johan answered the questions correctly.

Most of the adverbs of manner are formed by adding -ly; However there are exceptions. These are the adverbs that have the same spelling as the adjectives. For examples:
HARD
WELL

The boys had worked hard.
Julia dances well.

Adverbs of Time ( WHEN)

Adverbs of time are usually placed at the end OR at the beginning of a sentence.
For examples:
I will see you soon.
Haris forgot his lunch yesterday and today.
We first met Jullia last year.
Last year was the worst year of my life.

Adverbs of Place (WHERE)
Tell us WHERE something happens.

HERE
EVERYWHERE
OUTSIDE
NEAR

They traveled down the mountainside.
First, I looked here, and then I looked there, but I can’t find them anywhere.
New York is located north of Philadelphia.
