• Example: My truck gets 20 miles per gallon and the tank holds 25 gallons.

• PER GALLON is the magic word. The miles driven depends on how much gas is used. Gallon is the "X".

• so the domain would be how much gas you use. 0 gallons all the way to 25 gallon

Range

• the "Y" values

• In "miles per gallon" the "Y" is the miles

• Miles depend on how much gas you use

• So Range would be how many miles you can drive

• If you use 0 gallons, you drive 0 miles

• If you use all 25 gallons, then you could drive a max of 500 miles.
