Let's Practice

The Distributive Property says that a multiplication can be broken apart into the sum of two other multiplication facts.

6

Use the Distributive Property to find the missing factor. 7 X 8= (5 X 8) + ( _ X8 )

First Break apart factor 7 because the 8 factors have already been chosen to repeat. 5+2= 7

Remember to break apart the factor by determining two numbers that can add up to that factor. (5 X 8) + ( 2 X 8 )

7

Use the Distributive Property to find the missing factor 6X9= (_ X9)+(2X9)

4+2=6 --> ( 4 X 9 ) + ( 2 X 9 )
