Adding and Subtracting

• Line up by the decimal point

• Add or subtract normal

• Bring decimal point down

Multiplying Decimals

• Ignore the decimal

• Multiply normal

• place the decimal

• *** If there are 3 numbers behind the decimal in the factors in total, then there will be 3 numbers behind the decimal in the product

• EX: 3.56 x 1.2 would have three numbers after the decimal in the product

Dividing a Decimal

• Bring decimal straight up to the quotient

• Divide normal

Dividing BY a Decimal

• Move decimal to right until the divisor is a whole

• Do same thing to the dividend
