Angle relationships

2
Today we will be learning about angle relationships
Different types of angle relationships include:
Complementary angles
Supplementary angles
Vertical angles
Adjacent angles
Alternating interior/Alternating exterior
Corresponding
3
Complementary Angles
The definition for complementary angles is two angles that's sum is 90 degrees. You can find a certain angle by using complementary angles. For instance, if you know one angle is 30 then you would know the other has to be 60 because 60+30=90
4
Supplementary Angles
The definition for complementary angles is two angles that's sum is 180 degrees. You can find a certain angle by using supplementary angles. For instance, if you know one angle is 80 then you would know the other has to be 100 because 80+100=180
5
Verticle Angles
The definition of verticle angles is two angles that are opposite of each other when two straight lines intersect. Verticle angles are congruent meaning that if one angle was 10 the other verticle angle would be 10 as well. You can use this information to help you save some time.
6
Adjacent Angles
The definition of adjacent angles is two angles that share the common vertex and side. You can't really use this in any way but it more of a characteristic to describe some angles.
7
Alternating Interior and Exterior Angles
Alternating interior and exterior angles are nothing more than angles created when a transversal crosses two parallel lines. (Look at the image for example) Remember when angles are alternating interior or alternating exterior they are congruent.
8
9
Corresponding Angles
The definition for corresponding angles is angles that occupy the same relative position at each intersection. So corresponding angles are like alternating interior but on the same side. But one angle has to be on the exterior. Corresponding angles are congruent. If you are still not able to visualize it look at the image
