Lesson Intruduction.

Morning, guys ! So, Imagine this..... You have 12 chocolates, and you need to share them with 4 of your friends. How many would each one get? We divide right? But, What if the numbers are BIGGER and HARDER? Today , we're learning a cool and easy way to figure it out . Its called "The Standard Division Algorithm"! Let's go!

D = Division.

M = Multiplication .


S = Subtraction .


B = Bring down.

The method for solving.

Long division is a method to divide large numbers by breaking them into smaller steps.
1 - Divide the first digits of the dividend by the divsor

2 - Multiply and subtract

3 - Bring down the next digit from the dividend.

4 - Reapeat until all digits are used. If there's a leftover, that's the remainder

Example : 154 ÷ 7 = 22 , So no remainder
