Geometry Math Terms--10th grade

Line​

A straight path that has no thickness and extends forever.​

​Plane

​A flat surface that has no thickness and extends forever.

Coplanar​

• ​Points that lie in the same Plane. Otherwise they are noncoplanar.

• ​Lines on a notebook are coplanar to each other.

Line Segment ​

The part of a line consisting of two points and all points between them.​

​Endpoint

​A point at one end of a segment or the starting point of a ray.

​Ray and opposite ray

• ​A part of a line that starts at an endpoint and extends forever in one direction.

• ​Are two rays that have a common endpoint and form a line.

Congruent Segments​

​Are segments that have the same length.

Angle​

A figure formed by two rays, or sides.​

​Segment Bisector

1. Any ray, segment, or line that intersects a segment at it midpoint.

​

​ 2. It divides the segment into two equal parts at its midpoint.

​Vertex

​It has a common endpoint.
