When dividing a decimal by a whole number, follow these steps:

1. Place the decimal in the answer by moving it

straight up. (Raise it to the roof)

2. Place the first digit by dividing. (remember to

estimate, that helps get started)

3. Multiply

4. Subtract

5. Check (is my answer smaller than the divisor?)

6. Bring Down

7. Repeat the process
