Domain and Range
A function consists of:
-A set called the Domain (also called input)
-A set call the Range (also called output)
Remember that the Domain is represented by the X value
Remember that the Range is represented by the Y value

Do you recognize a pattern here? What would the last output value be? How would you write the equation for this function?

Here is an example of the graph of a function.
What would the function rule be for this example? (hint: it is multiplication)
Another name for y in this example is f(x). This is said "f of x" which just means a function of x.
In this function what would f(x) be if x=4?
