​A summary

• ​It was Becky Thatcher's Birthday.

• ​So a big boat came.

• ​It took Becky, tom and all their friends to McDougal's cave

• ​There were some big children in the boat but their were no parents.

• ​The parents stayed at home. Picnics were better without them

• ​It was a very happy, noisy picnic

• All children took candles and ran up the hill​

• ​The mouth of the cave was dark and so everyone was afraid at first but later the began to enjoy.

• ​McDougal's cave was extremely big and had tunnels that went up and down with hundreds of tunnels and rooms.

• ​one could spend days going through the hill.

• ​nobody knew all the caves but tom knew most of them well

• ​everybody ran, walked and played in the tunnels for hours.

• In the evening the boat came and the children came down the hill tired but happy.

• ​When the boat came to St Petersburg Huckleberry Finn saw it all but did not know what was going on because he was not invited to birthdays as the mothers of St Petersburg did not like him.

• ​Huck felt that Injun Joe's treasure was there and so continued to look at everything happen.​

• Huck waited but Injun Joe did not come out.

• ​At midnight it began to rain and Huck waited in the cold streets.

• ​In the morning he could not move or speak. He felt cold, then hot, the cold again and hot.

• ​Mrs. Douglas a woman from the church took him to her home and put him to bed.

• ​He was very ill so he had to stay in bed for two weeks

• ​Meanwhile Becky and Tom walked and talked as they walked down the cave. sometimes, tom kept putting a mark on the wall with his candle.​

• Then they reached a big room full of bats and the bats got attracted to the light of their candle.

• ​One of the bats put out Becky's candle.

• ​Both of them ran through random tunnels until they got away from the bats, but now they were lost.

• ​they walked a while until they reached a very small river.

• ​Then they drank some water.

• ​After that they would sleep, sit and drink water.

• ​they did not know what day it was

• ​But Tom had an idea

• ​He had a very long string in his pocket

• So he decided to take one end of it and and let Becky have one end so he could go through the cave in search of daylight

• ​while he was in one of the tunnels he saw someone with a candle

• it was Injun Joe!

• ​So tom ran and an until he was back with Becky, However he did not say anything about Injun Joe to Becky

• ​After an hour he continued his search and finally he found the right tunnel

• ​he soon found daylight

• so he took Becky, And out they were in open daylight.

• ​they stopped a boat that came by and came t know that they were 5 miles from the mouth of the cave

• ​on Tuesday evening the village waited for the men to find Becky and tom

• ​late that very evening the ran to the Thatchers' house to find Becky and tom safe and sound

• ​many villagers came to listen to toms story, according to tom, it was that sixth tunnel through which he came out through

• ​Tom was very tired and so he slept for 2 days before he want to see Huck

• ​he could not tell Huck his story as mrs. Douglas was in Hucks room all the time and said that he needed rest

• ​later mr Thatcher announced that the cave was officially closed and that no one was allowed inside

• ​this scared tom

• ​tom told mr. Thatcher that Injun joe was in the cave

• mr. Thatcher took it seriously and to toms words Injun joe was lying dead on the cave entrance with a knife in his hand.
