Innate Immunity
This is the first immune response to an unwanted invader. It is a rapid immune mechanism that recognizes a limited number of molecular patterns in disease-causing microbes or pathogens. To activate, pattern recognition receptors must identify the foreign elements. This mechanism lacks specificity and memory. You are born with innate immunity naturally.
2
Different types of barriers of the innate immunity:
Anatomical: skin and mucous membranes on the inside of the body.
Physiological: temperature, heartburn, and chemical mediators.
3
Homework: research on the other two types: Endocytic and Phagocytic cells
Inflammation
