SAT Overview
The Digital SAT is divided in ______ main sections.
Each section is divided into ________ modules.
The difficulty level of the questions in module 2 is based on how
you score in module 1. It is extremely important to do well on
module 1!
Answering just a few more questions correctly in each section will
dramatically raise your score, your college admission choices, and
your scholarship opportunities.
3
7 Critical Strategies for the Digital SAT
1.
DO download College Board’s Bluebook app.
2.
DO bring a mouse with you on test day. Attempting to complete the SAT with
a touch pad will waste a massive amount of time.
3.
DO use your mouse wheel to zoom in (or out) so that the text fits your screen.
4.
DO immediately click the blue ABC “eliminator” button on each module so that
you can use Process of Elimination in all sections.
5.
DO use the timer at the top of the screen.
6.
DO attempt to answer the questions in order.
7.
DO bring pens and/or pencils in case you decide to request and use the
provided scratch paper.

Content Breakdown
●
Algebra (about 35%, 13 - 15 questions): Develop, analyze, or solve
linear equations and inequalities as well as systems of equations.
●
Advanced Math (about 35%, 13 - 15 questions): Create, interpret, or
solve a variety of problem types, such as quadratic equations,
polynomial operations, or absolute-value equations.
●
Problem Solving and Data Analysis (about 15%, 5 - 7 questions);
Answer prompts about ratios, rates, or proportions; convert units;
calculate percentages; analyze data with one or two variables; or infer
data and evaluate claims from statistics.
●
Geometry and Trigonometry (about 15%, 5 - 7 questions): Solve
problems involving perimeter, area, or volume; angles, triangles, or
trigonometry; and circles.
5
Pacing
You have 95 seconds per item.
The number of minutes remaining should be a bit greater than the
number of questions remaining.
DON’T ever leave a question unanswered! There is no penalty for
guessing.
6
Student-produced Response (SPR) Questions
There will be about 7 SPR questions per math module.
●
Your answer can be up to 5 characters long for a positive answer and
up to 6 characters (including the negative sign) for a negative answer.
●
If your answer is a fraction that is more than 5 characters, write the
decimal equivalent.
●
If your answer is a decimal that is more than 5 characters, truncate it
or round to the fourth digit.
●
If your answer is a mixed number ( such as 3 ½ ), write it as an
improper fraction (7/2) or its decimal equivalent (3.5).
●
Don’t include symbols such as percent sign, dollar sign, comma, or
variable.

Math Response
At the beginning of the year, Carl has 6 fish in his aquarium. Each month he purchases 3 new fish to add to his aquarium. An equation of the form y = ax + b represents the number of fish, y, that Carl owns after x months have elapsed. What is the value of b?

Multiple Choice
For the finale of a TV show, viewers could use either social media or a text message to vote for their favorite of two contestants. The contestant receiving more than 50% of the vote won.
An estimated 10% of the viewers voted, and 30% of the votes were cast on social media. Contestant 2 earned 70% of the votes cast using social media and 40% of the votes cast using a text message. Based on this information, which of the following is an accurate conclusion?
If all viewers had voted, Contestant 2 would have won.
Viewers voting by social media were likely to be younger than viewers voting by text message.
If all viewers who voted had voted by social media instead of by text message, Contestant 2 would have won.
Viewers voting by social media were more likely to prefer Contestant 2 than were viewers voting by text message.

Multiple Choice
A company that provides whale-watching tours takes groups of 21 people at a time. The company's revenue is 80 dollars per adult and 60 dollars per child. If the company's revenue for one group consisting of adults and children was 1,440 dollars, how many in the group were children?
