The multiplication symbol
There are many different symbols in math but we will focus on the multiplication symbol. If you use a keyboard you use x as the multiplication symbol.

How to stack numbers
First you find out what you multiplying. The factors is what you multiply.
Next you put one number on top of the other number or leave them sideways.

Multiplying is like a group with numbers inside. For example 2x2 there are 2 groups of 2. So 2x2 is 4. Or you can stack the numbers like on the last page.

how to find the answer to a multiplication problem
Step 1 stack numbers. Step 2 figure out the 2 factors your multiplying. Step 3 add groups if needed (make sure you make the top factor into groups). Step 4 add bottom factor into each group. Step 5 add both numbers in groups together. Step 6 add the total to the problem.
