Think of the nervous system as the ultimate communication network of the body- like the control center of a massive video game, managing everything from your reaction time to your heart rate.
Our bodies are a fast way of electrochemically communicating to our network, made of all the nerve cells of the peripheral and central nervous system.

what two parts branch off?
What is its function?
What makes up the nervous system (2)

4
Components : spinal cord and brain
Function: Acts as the command center- processing information and sending instructions throughout the body.
Are bodies, the brain and spinal cord, that work together to make decisions.
( 2) Central Nervous system

6
Components: All the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord
Function: Connects the CNS to the rest of the body (relaying the info)- like the highways and back roads that connect to cities.
Our bodies' sensory and motor neurons that connect the CNS to the rest of our bodies.
- gathers information

8
The division is found in Autonomic nervous systems that can cause arouses to the body, mobilizing the energy.
It allows us to control the movement of our body's skeletal muscles.
( 2 ) Somatic nervous system
9
The other part is the peripheral nervous system that controls the glands and muscle of internal organs (heart). (heart rate)
Autonomic nervous system: Self operating/ regulating.

11
The division is found in Autonomic nervous systems that can cause arouses to the body, mobilizing the energy.
Fight or flight
It can elevate heart rate, raise blood pressure, slow digestion, cool you with sweat, make you alert for action, and etc.
( 1 ) Sympathetic nervous system
2
12
The division is found in the autonomic nervous system that can calm the body, conserving energy.
It can lower heart rate, regulate blood pressure, regulate digestion, and etc..
( 2 ) Parasympathetic nervous system
2
13
Parasympathetic nervous systems and sympathetic nervous systems work together to keep our bodies homeostasis (internal balance , typically of temp.)
How do the 2 autonomic nervous systems work together?
