​What is a coordinate plane?

• A coordinate plane contains the location of ordered pairs.

• ​The first column of an ordered pair is x (on the x-axis).

• ​The second column of an ordered pair is y (on the y-axis).

• ​You can plot an ordered pair by finding the first number on the x-axis and the second number on the y-axis and placing a dot.
