Texas is one of the few states that has diverse geographic characteristics. Aside from being the 2nd largest state in the US (Alaska is the largest) Texas has the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the Davis Mountains in the west, the flat farming plains of the north, and desert like feels in the south. Because of these features Texas is broken up into 4 major regions. Each region has different types of environment, climate, feature and even elevation, that makes Texas unique for us to enjoy.
In history, it is important that we understand the Physical and human characteristics of our surroundings. This answers questions like, why are we here and where did we come from? While also telling us about your culture and heritage.
