The student is expected to use context within or beyond a paragraph to clarify the meaning of unfamilir or ambiguous words.

How is it assessed?

​Test items for this standard ask students to return to the passage and reread the section in which the word appears. They require students to use that context to help them figure out the meaning of the unfamiliar vocabulary word.--
