One example is 2/4 greater, less, or equal to 1/2. The answer is that it is equal to because if you find the common denominator (which is four) you will have to multiply the 1 and 2 in 1/2 and that gives you 2/4 or an equivalent fraction.
Examples
When you want to find equivalent fractions, you must first try and find the common denominator in both fractions. Then you must find out if the fractions have the same value.
