Igneous rocks are formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. The magma can be derived from partial melts of existing rocks in either a planet's mantle or crust.

What is a Sedimentary Rock?

Sedimentary rocks are types of rock that are formed by the accumulation or deposition of mineral or organic particles at Earth's surface, followed by cementation. Sedimentation is the collective name for processes that cause these particles to settle in place.

What is a Metamorphic Rock?

Metamorphic rocks arise from the transformation of existing rock to new types of rock in a process called metamorphism.

Scheme Igneous Rock Identification : How to identify Igneous Rocks is you look at their environment of formation whether its intrusive or extrusive, then you go over to the right and identify the name of the rock and its crystal size whether its (non-crystalline, less than 1 mm, 1 mm to 10 mm, 10 mm or larger) and texture whether its (non-vesicular, vesicular) Then you go down to characteristics and then whatever side the rock is on whether its light or darker ir its density whether its higher or lower or its composition is Mafic or Felsic.
