The solar system is located in the milky way galaxy. There are eight planets in the solar system.

  • Interior planets

  • Exterior planets

Interior/inner planets

They are mercury, venus, earth and mars.

-They are the closest to the sun

  • The first planet and the closest to the sun.

  • It does not have any natural satellites.

  • It takes aproximately 88 days to orbit the sun.

  • It's day lasts 1.406 hours.

  • The second planet and the closest to planet earth

  • It is know as the morning star.

  • It does not have any natural satellites.

  • It takes aproximately 243 days to orbit the sun.

  • It's day lasts 243 earth days. Rotates in oppsite direction from the other planets.

  • The third planet and the only know to support life.

  • It has one natural satellite called the moon.

  • It takes approximately 365 days to orbit the sun.

  • Its day lasts 24 hours

  • The fourth planet, known as the red planet.

  • It has two natural satellites. Phobos and Deimos.

  • It takes approximately 687 days to orbit the sun.

  • Its day lasts approximately 25 hours
