• How does pollution affect the plants and animals in the Swamp & Marshes habitat?

Pollution Problem

Acid rain pollution is impacting Okefenokee. The air pollution comes from many sources, including industry, power plants, and automobiles which gets absorbed in the clouds mixing with the rain. Rain falls and carries pollutants. Since rain is the main source of water for this habitat and the habitat itself is roughly 75% water this is a major problem in the swamp/marsh region of Georgia.
