  • It is exchanging goods and services that a person or country has for goods and services that they need

  • On the local level when you go to the grocery store you trade your money for the food you buy. You need and value the food and they need and value the money.

  • On a national level if a country has a lot of oil and no computers it will trade the oil to a country that has no oil, but instead has too many computers. Both countries benefit.
