Weather Fronts

Weather fronts are boundaries between air masses with different characteristics. There are four main types of weather fronts:

  • Cold Front: Cold air displaces warm air, leading to thunderstorms and cooler temperatures.

  • Warm Front: Warm air replaces cold air, causing steady rain and warmer temperatures.

  • Occluded Front: A cold front overtakes a warm front, resulting in complex weather patterns.

  • Stationary Front: Air masses remain in place, causing prolonged periods of precipitation.
