Science Experiments Gone Wrong: Slime
7
One rainy afternoon, Gabby and her best friend Sandy decided to work on a slime project for their science class. They gathered all the supplies they needed: glue, baking soda, and food coloring. “This is going to be the best slime ever!” Gabby exclaimed as she mixed the ingredients in a big bowl. Sandy added a few drops of blue food coloring, and soon the mixture turned a bright, sparkly blue.
8
As they stirred the slime, Sandy accidentally knocked over a bottle of glitter. “Oops!” she said, giggling as sparkles flew everywhere. But something strange happened. The slime began to bubble and wiggle in the bowl! Gabby and Sandy stared at it in shock. “Is it supposed to do that?” Gabby asked, feeling a little scared. Suddenly, the slime jumped out of the bowl and landed on the table with a loud splat!

Before they knew it, the slime started to grow and change shape. It turned into a big, squishy slime monster with googly eyes! “What did we do?” Sandy gasped. The slime monster looked around, making funny noises as it bounced around the room. Gabby and Sandy couldn’t believe their eyes. They had created a real-life slime monster!
10
The slime monster began to explore their classroom, leaving a trail of glitter wherever it went. Gabby and Sandy knew they had to figure out how to stop it before it caused too much trouble. “We need to find a way to reverse the slime!” Gabby said, feeling determined. They quickly grabbed their books and searched for a solution. After looking through their science notes, they discovered that adding vinegar could help break down the slime.
11
With a plan in mind, they carefully followed the slime monster around the room, trying to catch it. “Here it is!” Sandy shouted as the monster reached the window. “Quick, pour the vinegar!” Gabby said as she aimed the bottle at the slime monster. They squeezed the bottle, and the vinegar splashed onto the monster. It began to bubble and shrink until, with one final pop, it turned back into a pile of blue slime! Gabby and Sandy high-fived each other, relieved and amazed. They had solved the mystery of the slime monster and learned a valuable lesson about mixing ingredients. From that day on, they knew to be extra careful with their science experiments!
