2
Noah and the Wild Hallway
Noah was in reading class.
Well, kind of.
He was in front of his laptop…
but his brain was in a totally different place.
3
“I wish I was in the hallway,” he muttered.
Or home.
Or playing with Ruthie.
Ruthie was his favorite little human.
His niece.
She called him “No-No.”
Only she was allowed to do that.
4
Suddenly—BOOM!
A message popped up on his screen.
📬 MISSION ALERT: Noah, we need YOU.
The school has a secret. And it’s in the halls.
“Now you’re talkin’,” said Noah.
He clicked the button.
The screen zapped! and the room began to spin…
5
When he opened his eyes, he was standing…
in the school hallway.
But this wasn’t just any hallway.
The lockers had eyes. 👀
The floor sparkled like glass.
And the janitor's mop was… growling?
6
“Welcome,” said a voice.
A floating paper clip with sunglasses zoomed by.
“I’m Clip. I’m your guide.”
Noah blinked.
“This is so weird,” he said.
7
“You’ll need to read the clues to find the lost book,” Clip said.
“Go slow.
Sound out the words.
Pause at the stops.
Or you’ll get lost.”
Noah rolled his eyes.
Reading? On a mission?
But… it was kinda cool.
And he did want to help.
8
Noah read it fast.
Too fast.
“Did you pause?” Clip asked.
Noah sighed.
“Okay, okay…”
🧩 Clue 1: “To find the path, don’t race.
Look for the door with the dragon face.”
9
He read it again.
This time, he stopped at the comma.
He sounded out dragon.
Then smiled.
“There!” he said.
The dragon door opened with a roar.
10
🧩 Clue 2: “Eyes on the lines, or you’ll miss the signs.”
Noah grinned.
“Lines? Like when I skip them?”
Clip nodded. “Exactly.”
This time, Noah used his finger.
One line at a time.
He found a glowing sign on the wall: BOOK ROOM.
11
Inside was the final clue.
🧩 Clue 3: “If you want to win,
read with your glasses on.”
Noah laughed out loud.
“Even this place knows I don’t wear them!”
He pulled his glasses out of his hoodie pocket.
Put them on.
The book on the table began to glow.
He picked it up.
MISSION COMPLETE.
12
Back at his desk, the screen blinked:
“Nice job, Noah.
You didn’t rush.
You didn’t skip.
You saved the day.”
Noah leaned back in his chair.
“I guess reading’s not that bad,” he said.
Then he smiled.
“Ruthie is gonna think this is SO cool.”
