Simple Past

Simple Past:

We use the simple past to describe actions that occurred in the past.
Example:
Last summer I went to the beach with my family. I ate ceviche and played in the waves. I didn't make sand castles because I didn't want to get any sunburn. I had a lot of fun!

They don't follow a rule, so you must memorize them!
Example:
drink = drank
go = went

Irregular verbs:

We add "ed" to the Infinitive.
Example:
walk = walked
call = called

Negative Sentences in past:

When we make negative sentences we write "did not" before the verb, and we write the verb in infinitive.

Example:
Cathy worked all day. = Cathy did not work all day.
The boys swam yesterday. = The boys didn't swim yesterday.
