Dealing with distractors

In multiple-choice questions in the Listening test, there is one correct answer and two wrong answers. The wrong answers are called "distractors". They are designed to seem correct.
For example, they use same words as the recording, but with a different meaning.
You have to make sure that the correct answer has the same meaning as the recording.

Exam skills

In the Listening test, you might need to complete tables or notes that already include some answers. Carefully check the given information so you know what kind of details are missing. This helps you listen for specific information. For example, if “nets” is already listed under basketball, you’ll need to listen for another related word. The sport will always be mentioned first, allowing you to concentrate on finding the missing word.
