Remember to simplify!

Fractions MUST be simplified before being given as the final answer.

Remember!! Fraction, mixed number, and improper fraction answers must ALWAYS be simplified before being given as the final answer. Divide both the numerator and denominator by the same number and make sure to check that your answer is simplified ALL THE WAY DOWN.

Remember to add place holders!

Make sure to add place holders in multiplication.

When multiplying multi-digit numbers, make sure to add your place holders!! Otherwise, you're not multiplying by the real value of the number, but one tens place down. For tens (10, 20, 30) add 1 zero. For hundreds (100, 200, 300) add 2 zeros, and so on.

Remember to put your quotients in the correct position!

A common mistake is putting your quotients in the wrong position. Don't forget to do it right!

If the divisor cannot go into the first number of the dividend, and it can go into the second number of the dividend, make sure to put your first quotient number on top of the SECOND number, not the FIRST number.
