What is Descriptive Text?

A descriptive text is a type of text that aims to describe a particular person, place, or thing in detail.

  • It creates a vivid picture in the reader's mind by appealing to their senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, taste).

  • It focuses on specific characteristics and qualities of the subject.

  • It answers the question: "What does it look like? What does it feel like? What does it sound like?"
