Create a unique logo for a fictional company using only geometric shapes while applying fundamental design principles.

​Objective:

​Materials Needed:

• Graph paper or plain white paper

• Pencil and eraser

• Ruler

• Compass (for circles)

• Colored pencils or markers (optional)

​Design Challenge Instructions:

Step 1: Company Selection (5 minutes)

• Choose a type of company from the following options:

  • Technology company

  • Sports brand

  • Food delivery service

  • Environmental organization

  • Educational platform

​Step 2: Planning

• Brainstorm ideas by answering these questions:

  1. What is your company's name?

  2. What message should your logo convey?

  3. What colors would represent your company? (if using color)

  4. Which geometric shapes best represent your company's purpose?

​Step 3: Design Requirements
Your logo must include:

• At least 3 different geometric shapes

• Only use these permitted shapes:

  • Circles

  • Squares

  • Rectangles

  • Triangles

  • Hexagons

  • Octagons

​Step 4: Creation Process

1. Sketch at least 2 different rough drafts

2. Select your best design

3. Create your final version

4. Add company name if desired

Rate your logo design on these criteria:

1. Did you use at least 3 different geometric shapes?

2. Is the design balanced and visually appealing?

3. Does it effectively represent your chosen company?

4. Is it simple enough to be recognizable?

• Ensure shapes work together harmoniously

• Consider negative space

• Make sure the design is clear even when small

• Technology: Overlapping circles and squares to show connectivity

• Sports: Triangles and rectangles to show movement and strength

• Food: Circles and hexagons to represent plates and honeycomb patterns

• Environmental: Triangles and circles to represent trees and the earth

• Educational: Squares and circles to represent books and unity

Try creating an alternative version of your logo using only black and white shapes to test its effectiveness without color.
