Raise your hand and let me know I don't want you to have to worry about waiting forever to leave.
Can't the teacher just make the pass for me?
I get asked this a lot. I MANY things at once during class. While I usually don't mind helping people out, I have lots to do that you may not notice or know about. I need you to create your own pass. However, let me know if there is an issue.

You can also send me an email if we are not able to get to everything during class.
Your questions and concerns are super important to me but sometimes there is not enough time to take care of all individual concerns during class time.
24
Assigned Seats
Sigh. Yes. There are assigned seats. However, classes can earn open seating.
If classes seem to be functioning well, I will go to open seating first on a trial basis but can be permanent if open seating goes well.
Why assigned seats? It helps protect a learning environment that can give everyone the best chance at learning.

My Priorities
Respect for People
Respect for Materials and Classroom
Respect for the Learning Environment
31
My Priorities - Why these priorities?
You all deserve the best class and opportunity to learn that I can give you. I want to give you a good class and a chance to do your best. To accomplish this, I want to make sure the classroom is a safe and structured. :)
32
Discipline
Actions that take away another person's choice to pay attention or to choose to do their best is an issue.
Everyone should be able to choose at any time if they want to pay attention. Interruptions or actions that take the attention away from the lesson take the choice away from other people.
It is one thing if you choose to not to pay attention but if you take from others I will start a discipline plan.
33
Discipline
My students are very valuable to me and I am protective of them. It is important to me that people are treated well, are included, feel valued, and treated fairly.
People who treat any of my other students in a disrespectful manner will need will be consulting with me and beginning a discipline plan.
34
My commitment to you:
While have expectations of you, you can expect from me that I will ...
work hard and try my best to give you the best class I can.
care about being fair and try my best to follow through with that.
to try and make this class engaging and interesting.
consider you as a valuable person first and student second.
