Do what the problem says......

• Tommy has 6 boxes and each has 3 apples, how many total apples does Tommy have in total.

• So I would draw six boxes and put 3 apples in each and count how many apples I have in total.

• Johnny has 27 dollars and his uncle has 45 dollars, how many dollars do they have in total?

• So I would draw out Johnny 27 dollars and then draw out the uncles 45 dollar and see how many I have in total.

Two-Step Problems

• Marcus has five boxes with eight apples in each box, when his uncle came over he gave him 37 more apples. How many apples does Marcus have altogether

• Mrs. Smallwood has 48 pencils and Mr. D gave her 48 more, She decides to split them into 8 groups. How many will she have in each groups?

• Ms. Zuniga has 12 boxes with 2 cats in each box, she also has two baskets with 10 cats in each. How many total cats does she have in boxes and baskets combine?

• Mrs. Caseres decides to have the school walk two laps a day for 7 days. At the end of the 7 days how many laps will the school have walked?
